The one of its kind forum, which will work to safeguard the interest and safety of women journalists and those working in related areas, was inaugurated at a function held at the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan convention hall. Ms. Sulochana Das, Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Ms. Minati Behera, Chairperson of the State Commission for Women, attended the inaugural function and unveiled the logo of the forum.
Expressing her happiness at the launching of the forum as she herself was from the media background, Ms. Das said it had fulfilled a long-felt requirement in the state. “The floating of the trust has been the culmination of a long-standing requirement,” she said.
It will enable women media persons to discuss their professional issues and problems, Ms. Das said.
