Bhubaneswar, Sept. 18: A low pressure area (LOPAR) is likely to take shape over the north-west Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood within the next 24 hours after a cyclonic circulation was formed in the same area on Monday, SOA’s Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) said.
Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation and the low pressure, moderate to heavy rainfall was likely to occur at most places of coastal, north and west Odisha on September 19 and 20, a CEC bulletin said.
Moderate rainfall may occur at many places with heavy precipitation at one or two places over the south Odisha districts during the same period, it said.
The system is expected to shift to neighbouring Chhattisgarh from September 20 night, the bulletin said.
