SOA FACULTY, TWO STUDENTS CHOSEN TO REPRESENT ODISHA IN NATIONAL GAMES

Bhubaneswar, Oct. 19: A faculty member and two students of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here have been selected to represent Odisha in the mini golf competition at the ensuing 37th National Games to be held at Goa from October 25 to November 9 next.

            The athletes are Smruti Rekha Pattnaik, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology of SOA, Amrita Das and Adyasha Mishra, both third year students of BBA LLB (Hons) of the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), the university’s faculty of legal studies.

            While congratulating the three on their selection in the state team, SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda wished them success in the competition. The Consultant of Odisha Mini Gulf Association Mr. Prasenjeet Pati and SOA’s Sports Officer Smt. Sunita Barma was also present.

            Mini Golf involves playing the ball from the tee into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the rules of the game. Every player in the group takes the first shot before proceeding to take the second shot. It is played in groups of fours or smaller as is regular golf.
