8TH BATCH OF PMKVY TRAINEES GET CERTIFICATES AT SOA

Bhubaneswar, Jan. 13: Initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojana (PMKVY) have been playing a pivotal role in empowering the youth and equipping them with industry relevant skills which enhance their employability, Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) has said.

“Such initiatives foster economic growth and SOA is committed to bridge the gap between education and industry by fostering a skill-oriented environment,” Prof. Nanda said while distributing certificates to the 8th batch of PMKVY trainees at SOA here recently.

The event, organised under the Skill Hub Initiative scheme at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), SOA’s faculty of agricultural sciences, marked the successful completion of skill development courses involving a large number of students who underwent various vocational training programs under PMKVY.

The PMKVY program at SOA offered a wide array of vocational training courses focusing on areas such as agriculture, technology and entrepreneurship. The university has been helping students acquire practical skills that make them more competitive in the job market.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean of IAS, Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare) and several key officials of the university and Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (CSDE).

Mr. Ashok Kumar Nayak, Deputy General Manager, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, expressed his gratitude to the university for extending its unwavering support in advancing the mission of skill development. He said that regular skill programs would commence in the field of engineering, medical sciences and agricultural sciences in the near future. Mr. Ramakrushna Mohanty conducted the program.
